Business Breakfast: ESG & Sustainability Finance

Delve into Sustainable Finance in the ESG Era: Bridging Banking Challenges, Climate Resilience, and Data Dynamics.

Banks are called to an unprecedented effort to drive the ESG transition to be compliant with ECB requirements and EBA standard climate risk and other ESG profiles, exploiting it to strategically drive the change. The ECB’s 2022 thematic review has highlighted several weaknesses that must be swiftly overcome, asking European banks to set some “good practices” to grand a gradual ESG evolution Roadmap. This will imply the re-design of a wide array of risk assessment and credit origination processes but also point to the need to acquire high-quality, granular information on the borrowers’ exposure to ESG risks, including physical and transition risks. This challenging landscape and the ways Banks are identifying to address it, will be discussed during the Amsterdam CRIF ESG Banking Roundtable, starting from CRIF ESG methodology, sharing some best – in class cases and brainstorming with the panel of Banks on issues and opportunities to drive the change.

The round table will adopt a collaborative “brainstorming interaction” approach, fostering dynamic exchanges of ideas and insights among participants. Through this approach, the diverse perspectives and expertise of attendees will be harnessed to explore key topics comprehensively. The outcomes will be synthesized into a confidential position paper exclusively available to attendees. The document will include the primary takeaways and conclusions derived from the event, providing a valuable reference for further deliberations and strategic considerations. By embracing this interactive and inclusive format, the event aims to facilitate meaningful dialogue and generate actionable insights that can inform decision-making and drive progress in relevant areas.
